The French automaker Citroen has unveiled its latest SUV Coupe, the Basalt Vision. This still is a concept car but the brand plans to launch in India and South America in the second half of 2024. The Citroen Basalt Vision will be based on a Common-Modular Platform (CMP), which also underpins the other two C-Cubed cars, the Citroen C3 and C3 Aircross, strategically targeting emerging markets globally.

Design, Features, Performance, and Pricing Of Citreon Basalt Vision

Like the C3, eC3, and the C3 Aircross, the Basalt Vision is built on the same Common-Modular Platform (CMP), but its overall silhouette stands out from the rest of the lineup. The front fascia of the Basalt Vision is nearly identical to the C3 Aircross because of the V-shaped LED lights, alongside Citroen's two-slat horizontal grille.

If viewed, from certain angles, the Basalt Vision will look like a sedan or SUV. As seen in the image, this vehicle's design has design cues of an SUV, a Coupe, and a five-door sedan. The only competitor we know with the same design language is the Tata Curvv

Furthermore, this French SUV Coupe has big square wheel arches and body cladding placed on the lower section of the vehicle, giving a rugged SUV look. With all these design elements, the Basalt Vision exudes a gorgeous-looking SUV Coupe.

The interior of the Basalt has been kept behind the curtains by Citreon. The expected offerings include a big touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, auto HVAC, leather upholstery, ventilated seats, wireless charger, cruise control, and so on. Further details of this upcoming Citroen car will be declared at the launch event.

Besides that, the Basalt Vision is expected to share the engine and transmission with its siblings. It may get a 1.2-litre petrol engine that churns out 109bhp and 190Nm of peak torque. In parallel, it should get a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission. As per speculations, the Citroen Basalt Vision will go up with the Tata Curvv EV. For the record, the Tata Curvv will be offered in petrol, diesel and all-electric versions.

The Citroen Basalt Vision will rival the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Volkswagen Taigun, and the upcoming SUV coupe, the Tata Curvv. That said, you can expect a similar pricing to its competitors. Official prices will be declared once launched.
