British motorcycle manufacturer BSA has finally returned to the Indian automobile space by launching their immensely popular motorcycle in India. They have brought the BSA Gold Star here, a globally renounced motorcycle. It carries an introductory ex-showroom price of Rs 3 lakh.

Design, Features, and Performance of BSA Gold Star

The motorcycle bears a retro design with its round headlamps, chrome-finished mudguard and tank, wire-spoke wheels, tubular grab handle for the pillion and round orange-coloured indicators. The overall design of the motorcycle is retro, minimal and chrome-heavy, and this has been done to maintain the old-school look.

The motorcycle gets a twin-pod semi-digital instrument cluster, a 12V charging socket, and a USB port. It has curved body panels along with a traditionally designed petrol tank. This BSA is offered in five different colours.

The motorcycle uses a 652cc single-cylinder oil-cooled petrol burner which churns out 45hp at 6500rpm and 55Nm of peak torque at 4000rpm and is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The claimed top speed for this motorcycle is 160kph.

Suspension duties are taken care of by twin telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. This suspension setup is conventional and known for offering a comfortable ride. To drop the anchor, the motorcycle is equipped with dual disc brakes; it gets a 320mm disc at the front and a 250mm disc at the rear along with dual channel ABS to ensure safety.

Pricing and Competition of BSA Gold Star

The motorcycle starts at an ex-showroom price of Rs 3 lakh and goes up to Rs 3.34 lakh, depending on the colour choices. In India, it locks horns with the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, which is available at a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 3.03 lakh.
