Ola has garnered significant attention in the motorcycle market after the introduction of its new Roadster series, particularly the OLA Roadster Pro. During the launch event, the bike appeared promising based on its paper specifications.

However, before the Roadster Pro, the only bike in this category was the Ultraviolette Mach 2, which is also owned by Indian automobile manufacturer Ultraviolette. The primary distinction between the two motorcycles is their respective costs.

The top model of Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 costs between Rs 2,99,999 and 3,99,999, and the Ola Roadster Pro costs between Rs 1,99,999 and 2,49,999, but keep in mind that delivery of the Roadster Pro will start next year.

Ola Roadster Pro vs Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2

Design and Main Features

The 2024 Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 is an updated version of the first generation Ultraviolette F77, which the brand launched in 2022, while the Roadster Pro is a newly launched bike. The F77 Mach 2 electric bike has USD forks, a mono-shock at the rear, a TFT display, navigation, disc brakes at both ends and LED lighting.

It is a full-fairing track-ready bike, but the Roadster Pro looks like a naked street fighter. It also has upside-down forks on the front and mono-shock suspension on the rear, a TFT display, alloy wheels, and lean-sensitive ADAS. The Ola Roadster Pro also comes with cruise control.

Speed and Range

The Ola Roadster Pro comes with two battery options: 8kWh and 16kWh. The F77 M2 also comes with two battery options: 7.1kWh and 10.3kWh. The top variant of the F77 falls behind the base variant of the Roadster Pro.

Even when comparing only the top variants, Ola can still outperform its counterpart. The 16kWh Roadster Pro can achieve 0-60kmph speed within 1.2 sec, and Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 can achieve the same speed in 2.8 sec.

The Roadster Pro has a top speed of 194 kmph, whereas its rival can go up to 155 kmph. Ola claims that the 16kWh Roadster Pro can achieve 579km of range with full charge and the F77 M2 can complete 323km on a full charge.

The Roadster Pro comes in four variants: Hyper, Sports, Normal, and Eco. In parallel, the Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 is offered in three variants: Glide, Combat, and Ballistic.

Verdict

On paper, the Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 lags significantly behind the Ola Roadster Pro, but, we can't draw any definitive conclusions yet. However, the Ola Roadster Pro is currently available for purchase, and the after-sale experience of consumers is a significant deciding factor in automobiles.
