The Apache and BMW share the same engine and design for the 310 series, and were identical at the core level. In fact, the only difference used to be the branding.
However, TVS has recently updated the Apache RR 310 by making some noticeable changes to its entry-level track-oriented machine.
Power Figures
The BMW G 310 RR and the Apache RR 310 bikes are powered by a 312.12cc single-cylinder engine, but BMW is using water-cooled technology to maintain engine cooling, and TVS has used a liquid-cooling system to maintain engine temperature.
The BMW produces 33.5 bhp at 9,700 rpm, and the TVS generates 37.48 bhp at 9,800 rpm. Torque generation is also better on the TVS; the TVS Apache RR 310 delivers 29 Nm at 7,900 rpm compared to the 27.3 Nm at 7,700 rpm of the BMW G 310 RR.
TVS has provided a Ducati-style transparent clutch cover to enhance the overall look of the 2024 Apache RR 310.
Main Features
Both bikes come with Rain, Urban, Track, and Sports modes, and they utilize a 6-speed gearbox to transfer power from the engine to the rear wheel.
TVS has also installed winglets on both sides of its bike for improved aerodynamic performance, which the BMW G 310 RR lacks. As a result, the TVS appears broader than the KTM.
Another major difference between these two bikes is the mobile connectivity. BMW doesn't have a mobile connectivity feature, but the TVS Apache 310 RR has a smartphone connectivity. The BMW G 310 RR features a slightly larger 12L fuel tank compared to the 11L fuel tank of the Apache RR 310.
Price
The Apache RR 310 is available in two variants: the one without a quick shifter, priced at ₹2.75 lakh, and the quick shifter variant, priced from ₹2.92 lakh. In contrast, the BMW G 310 RR is offered in a single standard variant, priced at ₹3.05 lakh. These are ex-showroom prices, as of September 2024.
