TVS sold 3,52,750 units in February 2024, which is 86,875 units more than what they sold in February 2023. That said, they sold 2,65,875 units in February 2023. The brand has marked 24.62 per cent year-to-year growth. The company took a strategic step by launching two attractive bikes: an updated version of the Apache RR 310 and a new bike, the Apache RTR 310.
The Apache RTR 310 is still one of the most feature-loaded bikes in this price segment, but the segment of 300-cc bikes is divided into two parts because some riders prefer performance in this segment and some go for features. The two most notable features of these two homegrown bikes are the cruise control and heated seat features.
Why so much hype?
The RTR 310 has a 312.12-cc BS6 engine, which delivers 35.08bhp at 9700rpm and a maximum torque of 28.7Nm at 6650rpm. This is a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. It comes with a fuel tank of 11 litres, which may sound less to some riders. The bike also comes with a dual-channel ABS, which is switchable. Riders can switch between ride modes, such as track, rain, sports, urban, and supermoto. The bike also has a digital instrument console, a USB charging port, music control, cruise control, and a digital speedometer.
Special Features
Electronic throttle control, Glide Through Technology, Voice Assist, Telephony, Digi Docs, Crash Alert, GoPro Control Smart, and Helmet Connectivity, make the TVS RTR 310 different from other bikes in this category.
Delivering cruise control and heated seats in this category is truly appreciable and deserves the hype. Not to forget, TVS has gained more popularity after collaborating with BMW for the BMW 310RR, 310GS, and 310R, which are essentially the rebadged and reshaped TVS Apache 310 series. This bike can achieve 0-100 mph in 7.19 seconds.
Market Positioning
The price of the TVS Apache RTR 310 starts from Rs 2.42 lakh for the standard variant, and it goes up to Rs 2.63 lakh for the top variant, Fury Yellow. This bike locks horns with the KTM 390 Duke and the BMW G310R.
