1) Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara/Toyota Hyryder- 19.38 km/l to 27.97 km/l
For starters, you should know that these two vehicles are based on the same platform and have the same powertrains under their hoods. They can be had in petrol-mild-hybrid, hybrid and CNG.
As for fuel efficiency, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara/Toyota Hyryder can have a mileage ranging from 19.38 km/l to 27.97 km/l, depending on the engine and transmission combination. The CNG version of these two SUVs, however, has a mileage of 26.6 km/kg.
These two cars are priced between Rs 10-20 lakh (average ex-showroom).
2) Honda City- 17.8 km/l to 27.13 km/l
Along with Maruti Suzuki and Toyota, the Japanese automobile manufacturer Honda also stepped into the Indian hybrid market with the Honda City Hybrid. A 1.5-litre, naturally-aspirated petrol unit solely powers the standard version of the Honda City. The Hybrid version is also powered by the same 1.5-litre unit but coupled with dual electric motors.

4) Maruti Suzuki S-Presso- 24.12 km/l to 32.73 km/kg
This “micro SUV” (as marketed by Maruti Suzuki) is powered by a 1.0-litre petrol engine that also powers the CNG version of it. For your reference, the CNG version will have a lower state of tune than the petrol version.

Toyota Kirloskar made a great move to introduce India’s bestselling MUV in the hybrid version. Unlike the Innova Crysta, the new Innova HyCross is available in petrol and hybrid versions, mated to a standard eCVT gearbox.
As for fuel efficiency, the non-hybrid version of the Toyota Innova HyCross returns 16.13 km/l, while the hybrid version returns 23.24 km/l.
The Toyota Innova HyCross’ price starts from Rs 19.77 lakh and it goes up to Rs 30.68 lakh. All are average ex-showroom figures.
6) Maruti Suzuki Baleno- 22.35 km/l to 30.61 km/kg
You can also consider the Maruti Suzuki Baleno for its appealing design and looks. This hatchback, as we already know, is among the bestselling hatchbacks in the country. It can be had in petrol and CNG.
Both versions are solely powered by the 1.2-litre petrol engine, but they come with a different engine output. The petrol version delivers the peak performance, while the CNG version delivers a lower output.
The manual and automatic versions of the petrol Baleno return 22.35 km/l and 22.94 km/l, respectively. The CNG version returns a mileage of 30.61 km/kg.
