Benelli has launched its latest adventure motorcycle, TRK 552X. This machine will probably be replacing the ongoing Benelli TRK 502X. The vehicle has been launched only in China as of now but it will soon be coming to the Indian market.
The design elements of the Benelli TRK 552X are like any other conventional adventure motorcycle. This too gets a tall windscreen, sharp beak, twin-pod headlights, chunky tank shrouds and fairing.
Regarding equipment, the bike gets a 5-inch TFT screen for instrumentation with smartphone connectivity, it also has a tyre pressure monitoring system and dual-channel ABS.
The bike misses out on some of the common features of this segment like riding modes and traction control system which are available on the KTM 390 Adventure and Royal Enfield Himalayan.
The heart of the matter here is a 550cc parallel twin mill which churns out 60hp and 55Nm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and is mounted in the steel trellis frame. The motorcycle rolls on 19-inch and 17-inch spoke wheels at the front and rear respectively.
Suspension duties are handled by Marzocchi branded adjustable upside-down front forks and rear mono-shock. Handling the braking duties are twin 320mm petal discs at the front and a 260mm disc at the rear.
The bike is on sale only in China as of now, but in the coming months, it will make its way to the European market and after that, we can expect it to come to the Indian market by the end of this year.
Since the existing Benelli TRK 502X costs Rs 6.50 lakh, (ex-showroom), we can expect the TRK 552X to be priced above the former, once launched in India.
