Bajaj has finally launched their most anticipated motorcycle, the Freedom 125. The Freedom 125 is the world’s first CNG bike. Its price ranges between Rs 95,000 and Rs 1.10 lakh. All are ex-showroom figures.
Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG: Performance
As the name suggests, the Freedom 125 comes equipped with a 125cc horizontally mounted mill which churns out 9.5hp and 9.7Nm at 8,000 and 6,000 rpm, respectively. Like most bi-fuel vehicles, this has a button to switch from petrol to CNG or vice versa.
It has a petrol tank capacity of 2 litres and a CNG capacity of 2KG. Once full, the CNG tank will alone weigh 18kgs. Bajaj claims a fuel economy of 102km per kg on CNG and 65kmpl on petrol, which gives this motorcycle a claimed tank range of 330km. Both the fuel tank inlets are covered under the same cover for convenient refuels.
Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG: Design, Suspension and Seat Height
The motorcycle looks simple yet stylish with its distinct appearance compared to conventional commuter motorcycles. The CNG tank is neatly positioned under the seats between the trellis frame. It gets telescopic forks at the front and a linked mono-shock at the rear.
The Freedom 125 weighs 147kg because of its heavy CNG tank. The weight is a little on the higher side as compared to other 125cc motorcycles.
The rider of Freedom 125 will sit 825mm high from the ground which is also slightly on the higher side compared to most conventional commuters.
Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG: Features, and Variants
This CNG bike has features like LED head and tail lamps, however, the indicators remain halogen units. The motorcycle also features a monochrome LCD panel with Bluetooth connectivity for telematics.
Bajaj offers the Freedom 125 CNG in three variants and seven colour options. The entry-level variant will be equipped with drum brakes, the mid variant will have drum brakes and LED lights, and the top variant will have LED lights and front disc brakes.
