The German automaker Audi has unveiled their most powerful petrol-based car, the Audi RS Q8 Performance. It's a performance-focused variant of the already performance-oriented Audi RS Q8.

In terms of visual appearance, the Audi RS Q8 performance and the RS Q8 are almost identical. However, both versions look distinct compared to the standard Audi Q8, thanks to their new honeycomb grille, redesigned front and rear ends, matrix LED headlights and OLED tail lamps.

Interior

The interior of the super-SUV is also slightly different from that of the standard Q8, with its Alacnatara finishing. As for features, both are identical with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, but this one gets a gear shift indicator built in, which is lacking in the standard car. Apart from that, the SUV also has a 10.1-inch infotainment screen and an 8.3-inch screen for the climate control system.

Performance

This super SUV is powered by a twin-turbo V8 petrol burner, which churns out a whopping 640hp. This is a 40hp power bump compared to the already performance-oriented Audi RS Q8 and just 10hp lower than the V8-powered Italian super SUV, the Lamborghini Urus.

In terms of looks, the car is similar to the standard Audi RS Q8 but when it comes to performance, it is entirely different. Audi claims the RS Q8 can run from 0 to 100 in just 3.6 seconds while achieving a top speed of 306kph. The SUV delivers all the power to all four wheels via an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission.

Noteworthy Features

Other noteworthy features of the Audi RS Q8 performance are adaptive air suspension, a launch control system, and a self-locking central differential, plus a free-flowing exhaust, which not only sounds sportier than ever but also reduces the back pressure of the vehicle.

India Launch?

There is no information about this car’s India launch yet. The standard Audi Q8 (Rs 1.07 to 1.43 crore)  and the Audi RS Q8 (2.22 crore) are on sale. All are ex-showroom figures, as of June 2024
