The German luxury carmaker Audi has launched the updated version of the flagship SUV, the Q8, in India. This facelifted iteration is mechanically unchanged, but it does get cosmetic tweaks and new features.

Currently, in India, there are no direct rivals, but it used to rival the BMW X6 and Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe.

As for the exterior, the most significant update is the new set of headlights, which are now HD Matrix LED units, integrated with laser assist for the high beam. It also boasts configurable lights. In addition to that, the 2024 Audi Q8 has received a reprofiled front octagonal-shaped grille with chrome inserts, plus the air intakes have been refreshed.

The rear end of the new Q8 mostly remains the same but also has subtle changes, especially the all-new digital OLED rear lights with four configurable light designs that work in tandem with headlights.

Now, as far as the interior goes, the 2024 Q8 SUV is largely the same as before, but the changes are limited to stitchings on the upholstery and new interior colour options. Besides that, this vehicle continues to offer Audi’s twin MMI touch displays, heads-up display, four-zone HVAC, ventilated and massaging seats, and a Bang & Olufsen premium surround sound system.

Further, it gets pre-installed popular apps, including Amazon Music and Spotify. The driver assistance technology (ADAS) has also improved for a better driving experience. Besides that, it continues to offer ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, drive modes, a tyre pressure monitoring system, a wireless charger tray, and so on.

Powertrain

As mentioned earlier, the facelifted Audi Q8 will continue to have the same 3.0-litre V6 turbo-petrol engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system, which is tuned to produce 340bhp and 500Nm of peak torque. The power is delivered to all four wheels (called Quattro by Audi) via a standard 8-speed automatic transmission.
