When we hear the ‘facelift’ moniker, we tend to think of cosmetic changes and a few additions of features. But, in the case of the Mercedes Benz EQS facelift, it will also receive an enhanced powertrain. That said, the electric saloon will offer a better range.

The new EQS will be on sale in international markets this year, and its bookings will commence on April 25, 2024. The official launch date for India is yet to be declared, but it will arrive here, too.

2025 Mercedes-Benz EQS Facelift: Cosmetic Updates

To keep up with the ‘facelift’ moniker, the 2025 EQS will have a revised front fascia. The most notable highlight of Mercedes’ electric cars is the deep black panel grille, flanked by headlights. That setup is, however, retained, but now, it will come with an added chrome garnish.

As you can see in the image, the new iteration has flush-mounted horizontal chrome slats that elegantly blend with the contrasting black surroundings. The 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQS will also receive a new ‘standing star’ element on its bonnet. Yes, that elegant, standing Mercedes star is back. It wasn’t there in the pre-facelift version of the EQS. The front end will also feature an AMG-sourced bumper to give an aggressive look.

The rear end of the EQS facelift is also slightly revamped.

All-in-all, the silhouette of the 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQS facelift remains retained.

2025 Mercedes-Benz EQS Facelift: Enhanced Inside Experience

As the title suggests, the German luxury carmaker didn’t leave the rear-seat experience as is. The EQS interior is even more plusher, as the carmaker has provided chrome-finished a/c vents on the B-pillars. Additionally, the comfort pillows are provided for the rear passengers with contrast stitching, complemented by Nappa-leather piping.

Speaking of the rear seat experience, the 2025 EQS with the optional Pinnacle Trim with Executive Interior Package will offer a fold-forward passenger seat feature, which creates more legroom for the rear passengers. Another added thing is the adjustable backrest for the rear occupants, which can be adjusted up to 38 degrees. Other creature comfort features include rapid heating- rear seats that ventilate neck and shoulder support.

Interestingly, the rear occupants can also adjust their seat heights, which is also called pneumatic seat depth adjustment. To give a sense of comfort and relaxation, the 2025 EQS also has illuminated trim treatments done on the back of the front seats. The new EQS is also equipped with a YouTube web app, a digital guide app, Dolby Atmos, and a standard MBUX Hyperscreen.

2025 Mercedes-Benz EQS Facelift: Other Enhancements and Upgrades

Other highlights of this electric vehicle include a tweaked larger battery pack of 118kWh, increased from 108.4kWh. Thanks to that, the 2025 EQS will offer an increased claimed range of an extra 82 kilometres from the outgoing model.

The 2025 EQS 450 4MATIC EV is now anticipated to travel up to 799 kilometres, as opposed to the previous claim of 717 kilometres. Additionally, customers also have an option to choose a long-range version of the EQS. As per the carmaker, the EQS 450+ iteration can offer an impressive claimed range of 822 kilometres on a single charge.

Please note that these are WLTP cycle-based claimed range figures.

Further, the 2025 EQS facelift is also equipped with an upgraded regenerative braking system with a quicker deceleration rate. For optimum drivability, the facelifted EQS will have a Disconnect Unit (DCU), available in all-wheel-drive versions; making the front motor turn off automatically during different driving conditions.

Another thing which is enhanced is the Automatic Lane Change (ALC). The 2025 EQS will be able to automatically overtake the front car and initiate lane changes at a speed ranging between 80km/h and 140km/h.
