The facelifted Nissan Magnite was spotted testing on the Indian tarmac and that too, in a disguised avatar. For reference, this sub-four-metre SUV is often credited as the saviour of Nissan India’s future, as the company’s rest of the India-specific vehicles were not performing well.
However, it’s been four years since the Nissan Magnite was launched, and as a result, it has been long due for a facelift. And, the launch of the facelifted Magnite is set to take place in the first week of October 2024.
Brief Overview
Following the launch of the CBU import Nissan X-Trail SUV, the Japanese automobile manufacturer is now planning to launch the updated Magnite.
The updated iteration is expected to have a more upmarket look, plus it is likely to have a refreshed interior with added contemporary features.
As the facelift tag implies, the 2024 Nissan Magnite is deemed to have a reprofiled set of headlights along with a redesigned front bumper. At the same time, the rear end is likely to get redesigned taillamps and bumper. A new set of alloy wheels is also expected to be offered.
Currently, the pre-facelift version of the Magnite is equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit (supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay), a fully digital instrument cluster, electrically adjustable ORVMs, power windows (all), one-touch up/down window (driver), electric tailgate release, etc.
It also has a driver armrest storage, a fabric with leatherette upholstery, a 60:40 split seat, a dual-tone interior (black and light grey), and a connected car technology (telematics). There is also a reverse parking camera, a 360-degree camera, cruise control, cabin-to-boot access, auto HVAC, and a tyre pressure monitoring system, to name a few.
The current version also has projector headlamps with LED DRLs, halogen taillamps, LED fog lamps, and cabin lamps (front and rear). But, it is worth noting that the company offers optional ambient lighting and puddle lamps.
Moreover, the outgoing iteration has two engine options: a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. The former produces 71bhp at 6250rpm and 96Nm of torque, while the latter produces 99bhp at 5000rpm and 160Nm at 2800rpm. These are available with manual and automatic transmissions.
The same engine options and transmissions are deemed to be retained on the facelifted Nissan Magnite.
Launch Timeline
Nissan India will launch the Magnite facelift in the first week of October. Once launched, it will continue to rival the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV 3X0, Renault Kiger, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, and Tata Nexon, among others.
