2024 Jeep Wagoneer S: Jeep’s All-Electric SUV

Like all other carmakers shifting towards electrification, the Stellantis-owned Jeep is also setting foot into the e-mobility. 

The Jeep Wagoneer S is Jeep’s one of the electric SUVs. This e-SUV will directly lock horns with the Tesla Model Y, which, as you know, is one of the bestselling Tesla cars in the USA. This electric Jeep SUV is built in Mexico and will initially be offered in the Launch Edition iteration. 

Moreover, Jeep hasn’t announced if they will take out the combustion engine version of the Wagoneer SUV but this vehicle’s STLA Large platform, which also underpins the upcoming Dodge Charger EV, is flexible to accommodate ICE and BEV vehicles. 

Exterior: Looks and Dimensions

The new Jeep Wagoneer S is as futuristic as it can get. The incorporated design language blends well with all new-age cars. Additionally, this particular SUV looks more aerodynamic than other Jeep SUVs. 

The illuminated 7-slat grille at the front is sleeker and is flanked by sleek LED headlights. The lower section of the bumper also houses the ADAS sensor. The front fascia doesn’t incorporate sharp cuts, and despite that, this SUV still looks imposing.

The rear end of this SUV also looks sleek yet sharp. It has a width-spanning LED taillamp and an integrated roof-mounted spoiler.

Considering aerodynamic design in mind, the Wagoneer S has a very low drag coefficient (Cd), rated at 0.29, boasting the lowest CD among Jeep cars and in the segment. 

As for dimensions, this American SUV has a length of 4887mm, a width of 1900mm (2123mm when counting the mirrors), and a height of 1646mm, and it sits on a wheelbase of 2870mm. This Jeep EV has a ground clearance of 162mm.

And, on paper, the storage capacity also seems adequate as the frunk’s capacity is rated at 58 litres, while the boot capacity is rated at 484 litres. 

Specifications: Powertrain and Charging 

The Jeep Wagoneer S is based on the STLA Large platform, which will also underpin the upcoming Dodge Charger EV, but this platform is designed to house both ICE and BEV powertrains. 

It is confirmed that the Launch Edition version will be powered by a dual-electric motor, coupled with an all-wheel-drive system with an output of 592bhp of peak power and 836.5Nm of peak torque. The 2024 Wagoneer S can do 0-100km/h in just 3.4 seconds, thanks to the offered setup. 

Jeep also claims that this vehicle can accelerate faster than the Tesla Model Y Performance and Jeep’s own Grand Cherokee Trackhawk with a Hellcat engine, making it the fastest Jeep to date. 

The offered battery capacity is a 100kWh lithium-ion battery with a 400-volt capacity. The DC charger can charge this electric SUV from 20-80% in 23 minutes. The claimed EPA range is rated at 483km. 

To handle different terrains, this electric SUV has Jeep’s Selec-Terrain (drive modes). 

Interior: Cabin Layout

The interior of the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S welcomes you with the three different screen panels placed on the whole cockpit. 

That said, there is a digital instrument cluster, an infotainment unit, and a passenger-side digital display. The additional displays can, however, be turned off, as and when required for safety purposes. 

More so, this vehicle has a 19-speaker audio system, automated door opening, power windows, ADAS, anti-glare mirrors, a centre console, and ventilated seats, to name a few. 

Pricing

Stellantis stated that the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S will go on sale at the Jeep's official dealerships this year for USD 71,995. (around Rs 59.96 lakh), which includes delivery for the launch-spec edition. The Wagoneer S is priced between the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer.
