Jawa is now refreshing its India-bound lineup as the brand recently updated the Bobber 42, and now they have launched the updated variants of the standard Jawa 42. The brand has introduced new colours and made minor changes to the power figures.
Additionally, they have revised the price by reducing it by Rs 16,000. The brand has updated the Jawa 42 line-up twice - the first time was in Q1 of 2021.
Jawa 42 Performance Update
The company has updated its J-Panther liquid-cooled engine to provide more refined performance, reduced vibrations, and higher harshness. According to the company, the new J-Panther engine will offer better low-end performance and fuel economy.
Overall, thermal efficiency has improved by 25 per cent, and cooling efficiency has improved by 15 per cent.
Higher dynamic load capacity bearings in the crankcase reportedly enhance overall refinement. The new engine also features a 50 per cent reduction in piston slap.
This bike is powered by a new 294-cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, producing 29.95 bhp and 26.84 Nm of torque.
The engine's top-end has undergone refinement as well. The J-panther engine's updated valvetrain with high lift valves allows the valves to open faster and sit softer, enhancing the engine's performance.
Jawa also claims this engine now offers smoother gear shifts from the updated six-speed gearbox, especially on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gears. It now comes standard with a slip-assist clutch.
Jawa 42 Features Update
The new Jawa 42 features a fully digital instrument console, a USB charging port, dual-channel ABS, alloy wheels, and tubeless tyres as standard. Furthermore, this bike stands on a telescopic fork and gas-charged twin shock absorbers with preload adjustability.
The company also claims that the seat on this iteration is now more comfortable, thanks to improved padding.

Jawa 42 Variants
The 2024 Jawa 42 is now available in fourteen colour options, including six new colour-based variants. The latter includes Celestial Copper Matter, Vega White, Voyager Red, Asteroid Grey, Odyssey Black, and Nebula Blue.
