Japanese Automaker Isuzu has updated their SUV, the MU-X for this year. This update has been given to make the car look fresh and modern and is mostly a cosmetic update. However, the MU-X on sale in India is an older generation model and there is no confirmation of this new model to arrive in our country.
2024 Isuzu MU-X Features, Performance, and New RS Variant
The SUV gets a huge blacked-out front grille with bold Isuzu branding slightly above it. The updated 2024 MU-X SUV also receives a reprofiled headlight design and revised pattern for the LED DRLs. The bumper design has also been altered to make the SUV look sharp. Alloy wheels and the taillamp of the MU-X have also been redesigned to look sporty and attractive.
The SUV also gets a new sporty RS variant, which houses the RS badging on the front grille and gets an all-black interior with contrast stitching on the upholstery. To increase the sporty elements inside the cabin, the SUV also gets red ambient lighting across the dashboard and the door panels. The regular MU-X, however, has a simpler beige and brown-themed interior design.
Noteworthy features of the Isuzu MU-X’s interior comprise a brand-new 9-inch instrument cluster and a 7-inch infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The vehicle also gets an updated ADAS suite with features such as adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, and lane keep assist, to name a few.
There are no changes to the performance components of the SUV. It continues to get the 1.9-litre diesel engine, which churns out 150 PS, while the other powerful 3.0-litre diesel mill churns out 190PS and 450Nm of peak torque. These are mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, but there is no option for the manual transmission. The SUV also offers 4X4 capabilities in its RS avatar.
This new Isuzu MU-X faces heat from the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Everest (or Endeavour), etc. We can expect this facelifted version to come because the old version of the MU-X is on sale in India. And once launched, it will compete with the Fortuner and the upcoming Ford Endeavour.
