Acer India is gearing up for one of its biggest achievements yet — crossing the $1 billion revenue mark by the end of 2025. The company’s confidence comes from two major growth engines: a booming consumer laptop segment and heavy investments in local manufacturing.

Harish Kohli, President and Managing Director of Acer India, shared that new production lines in Puducherry and upcoming assembly partnerships will be at the heart of this push. While most of the output will cater to the domestic market, Acer also sees Bangladesh as a promising export hub.

From Challenger to Contender in India’s PC Market

It wasn’t long ago that Acer’s ascent in India’s PC industry looked like an uphill climb. The brand had just about 5.5% share in consumer notebooks. Fast forward six to seven quarters, and that figure has shot past 18%.

A lot of credit goes to the Make in India program and Acer’s knack for designing products tuned to local needs. This growth has helped Acer edge past Dell, making it the third-largest laptop brand in India. And it’s not just laptops — in desktops too, Acer has carved out a 24% market share, putting it right behind HP.

Building More, Selling Smarter

A big part of Acer’s plan is to simply make more laptops in India. The company aims to lift monthly laptop production to around 25,000 units in the coming years. On the retail side, it’s going wider and deeper — opening more multi-brand outlets and exclusive Acer stores.

What stands out is how much of this growth is powered locally. Today, nearly 75% of products sold in India are manufactured domestically. Pair that with almost 20% annual growth in offline outlets, and Acer is strengthening its footprint in both cities and smaller towns.

The Road Ahead

With momentum on its side, Acer India looks well-positioned to not just hit but possibly surpass the $1 billion revenue target in 2025. A strong consumer laptop segment, the benefits of Make in India, and exports to Bangladesh together paint a very promising picture.
