Vivo has officially unveiled its next-gen software in China, announcing OriginOS 6 for smartphones and BlueOS 3 for wearables. The new Android 16-based OriginOS 6 makes its debut on the Vivo X300 Pro and Vivo X300, with a wider rollout planned for other Vivo and iQOO devices starting this November.
A Fresh iOS-Inspired Design
The biggest change in OriginOS 6 is its completely revamped interface, which takes clear cues from Apple’s iOS 26 Liquid Glass design. Users will notice curved icons, transparent layers, and depth-based effects that make navigation feel more fluid and responsive.
Vivo has also introduced its own take on Apple’s Dynamic Island, calling it “Atomic Island.” This interactive floating window can handle quick actions like managing music, timers, and notifications. The Control Centre has been redesigned as well, now offering customizable quick settings and liquid-like animations.
Performance and AI Boost
On the performance front, OriginOS 6 uses the Blue River Smooth Engine, built on a dual-rendering architecture and super-core computing for reduced lag and more stable frame rates — especially noticeable during gaming and heavy multitasking.
AI also gets a major upgrade with features like:
-
Live Photo AI Removal – erase unwanted objects from pictures
-
AI Summary Generation – create quick summaries from long texts
-
Circle to Search 2.0 – instantly recognize objects in photos and videos
BlueOS 3 for Smartwatches
Vivo didn’t stop with smartphones. It also launched BlueOS 3, the latest update for its smartwatches. The new software will debut on the upcoming Vivo Watch 5 and iQOO Watch 5, bringing better battery efficiency, smoother animations, and new tools like Blue Heart V Calling for improved connectivity.
