A leaked build of One UI 8.5 shows a brand-new menu in Settings called “Switch to mobile data with AI.” Inside are two key features—Intelligent Link Assessment and Intelligent Network Switch—both designed to stop those annoying drops in connectivity.
Intelligent Link Assessment: Smarter Signal Handling
This feature looks at your Wi-Fi performance in real time. If it detects that the Wi-Fi signal is weak or has lost internet access, it will automatically switch you to mobile data, so you don’t have to deal with buffering videos or failed uploads.
Intelligent Network Switch: Learning Your Routines
The second feature takes things a step further by learning your daily habits and Wi-Fi usage patterns. For example, if you regularly connect to Wi-Fi at home or work, the phone will recognize these spots. When you leave, it will seamlessly switch you to mobile data based on your routine—no delays, no manual toggling.
