Samsung’s much-rumored dual-hinge foldable, often referred to as the Galaxy Trifold, is back in the spotlight thanks to a fresh set of leaked animated clips. Shared on X (formerly Twitter), these visuals give us the clearest look yet at what Samsung might be cooking up—and the focus this time is squarely on multitasking, AI, and productivity.
Smarter Multitasking With Galaxy AI
In one clip, the Samsung Internet browser is seen running alongside Galaxy AI, which can either sit neatly in a third of the display or float around as a movable window. Another shows phone calls popping up in a floating window you can drag around the screen, letting you chat while browsing, writing, or watching videos without disruption. Clearly, the Trifold is being designed as a true multitasking powerhouse.
Flexible Display and New Interface Tricks
The leaks also reveal some interesting UI details. For example, the cover screen’s app layout can be mirrored directly onto the larger internal display when unfolded—making the transition seamless. Even more intriguing, one animation shows the device being used in portrait mode, a first for foldables of this type and something we haven’t seen in earlier leaks.
Big Camera Power and Desktop Mode
Hardware hints are also sprinkled in. The camera app is shown with a whopping 100x zoom, suggesting Samsung could be packing in a periscope lens for the first time on a foldable. On top of that, the Trifold is confirmed to support Samsung DeX, turning the device into a desktop-like workstation when hooked up to a monitor.
When Could It Launch?
Samsung hasn’t confirmed the Galaxy Trifold yet, but leaks point toward a possible debut in October or November. The first wave of availability is expected in China and South Korea, though there’s still a chance Samsung could bring it to the US if things go well.
