Oppo and OnePlus have officially begun rolling out their Android 16-based software updates to more devices across the globe. Both brands confirmed that their latest flagships — and even some tablets — are now receiving the stable versions of ColorOS 16 and OxygenOS 16.

The rollout is happening in phases, with users in India and select international markets already seeing the update notifications.

Oppo’s ColorOS 16 — Smarter, Smoother, and More Personal

Oppo kicked off the global rollout of ColorOS 16 on November 6, starting with its flagship lineup — the Find X8, Find X8 Pro, and Find N5. The update will expand from November 11 to include the Find N3, Find N3 Flip, and Oppo Pad 3 Pro.

These are stable builds, and Oppo says the rollout is starting with international variants before reaching other regions.

ColorOS 16 brings a major visual and performance refresh. The interface now features redesigned animations, smoother transitions, and an overall more fluid user experience. Under the hood, the Trinity Engine has been optimized to deliver better system performance and efficiency.

The Always-On Display gets new customization options, and motion wallpapers now feature an AI-powered depth effect, adding a subtle 3D touch to your lock screen.

But the real star of the update is AI. Oppo is introducing a suite of new tools, including:

  • AI Portrait Glow for enhanced lighting in selfies

  • AI Eraser for object removal

  • Master Cut for quick video edits

  • AI Mind Space, a personal productivity tool

ColorOS 16 also integrates Google’s Gemini Live, a new conversational AI assistant, and brings enhanced privacy controls, giving users more control over how their data is managed.

OnePlus OxygenOS 16 — A Clean New Look with Liquid Glass Aesthetic

Following close behind, OnePlus has started rolling out OxygenOS 16, also based on Android 16, to several of its devices. The update is now available for the OnePlus 13, OnePlus 13R, OnePlus 13s, OnePlus 12, OnePlus Open, OnePlus Pad 3, and OnePlus Pad 2.

Visually, OxygenOS 16 introduces a major design overhaul. The interface now adopts a “Liquid Glass” aesthetic, reportedly inspired by Apple’s fluid design language. It features Gaussian blur effects, translucent layers, and softer edges, creating a more refined and premium look.

The Quick Settings panel has been reworked with larger icons, custom layout options, and new shortcuts for better usability. Icon theming is also more consistent across the UI, while the app drawer now includes a bottom search bar and categorized tabs for easier navigation.

On the functionality front, OnePlus has added several AI-driven tools, such as new features in the Recorder app and productivity enhancements in the Mind Space app.

AI at the Core of Android 16

For both Oppo and OnePlus, AI is the heart of Android 16. The updates focus on making user experiences more personalized, intelligent, and efficient — whether that’s through smarter photo editing, contextual app suggestions, or intelligent battery optimization.

The rollout is expected to continue through late November and December, gradually expanding to more markets and eligible devices worldwide.

With Android 16, both Oppo and OnePlus are taking big steps toward a more intuitive and AI-driven user experience. Between Oppo’s polished ColorOS 16 and OnePlus’s refined OxygenOS 16, users can expect sleeker visuals, smarter tools, and smoother performance — a clear sign that the next wave of smartphone software is all about intelligence and personalization.
