Motorola is dropping its next big phone in India this Thursday, and if the latest rumors are right, it’s going to cost a lot less than people thought. Leaks suggest the company plans to undercut the competition by selling its new premium device for well under ₹70,000, despite the high-end specs.
A major price cut
The retail box for the Motorola Signature might say ₹84,999, but you probably won’t pay that much. Tipster Sanju Choudhary claims the actual starting price will be ₹64,999 for a model with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
If you need more space, the 1TB version is rumored to cost just ₹69,999. That is an aggressive move. Most flagship phones with that much storage cost significantly more. If this pricing holds up when the phone launches on January 23, Motorola is clearly trying to steal customers away from brands like Samsung and OnePlus.
Thin phone, huge battery
The most impressive part of this phone isn’t just the price; it’s the build. The device is incredibly thin—just 6.99mm—yet it packs a large 5,200mAh battery.
How did they fit a big battery in such a skinny phone? They are using “silicon carbon” technology. This new type of battery holds more power in a smaller space than the standard lithium-ion batteries found in most phones. It keeps the phone light (186g) without sacrificing battery life.
Screen and speed
The rest of the hardware is what you’d expect from a top-tier phone. The 6.8-inch screen is extremely bright and supports a 165Hz refresh rate, which is smoother than the standard 120Hz screens on the iPhone or Galaxy S series.
Inside, the Indian version will run on a Snapdragon 8 series chip. While the global model uses the newest Gen 5 processor, we are waiting to see if the Indian unit gets the same engine.
Why it matters
The Indian market has seen flagship prices creep higher and higher recently. It is rare to find a phone with 512GB of storage and top-level specs for under ₹65,000. By combining a lower price with next-gen battery tech, Motorola could shake up the “affordable flagship” category that has been getting expensive lately.
