The leading carmaker, Mahindra, has expanded its EV lineup by adding a new model called XEV 9S. The 7-seater electric SUV has been launched in India at an introductory price of Rs 19.95 lakh (ex-showroom). Those who are interested will be able to pre-book the EV from January 14, 2026. The deliveries will kickstart from January 23.

The all-new XEV 9S shares the company’s latest style statement strategy, which has already been seen in XEV 9e and BE 6e. The model shares a lot of design cues from the XEV 9e, featuring a similar side profile to the XUV700. The model has been treated with an aggressive road presence with all the cuts and creases from left, right and centre.

Aesthetically, XEV 9S comes with a blanked-off grille at the front, flaunting vertically stacked fully LED headlamps. It gets T-shaped LED DRLs, followed by a trending connected LED lightbar at the back. The section is also treated with L-shaped taillights. On the sides, it gets flush-fitting door handles, making it look quite futuristic and premium in the segment. The aero-optimised wheels elevate the overall road presence.

Jumping inside the cabin, the all-new XEV 9S is equipped with a triple-screen layout. One is dedicated to the drivers, the middle one to the infotainment system and the last one is pure for entertainment purposes for side passengers. To level up the tech, the company has included two separate screens for the second-row passengers.

The XEV 9S is available in three battery options, including 59 kWh, 70 kWh and 79 kWh. All of them are capable of fast-charging up to 175 kW. A single electric motor can generate a maximum power of 282 BHP and 380 Nm of peak torque, powering via the rear wheels. It has been claimed by the brand that the model can do a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 7 seconds, and has a top 202 km/h.
