iQOO is gearing up to release its next flagship phone in China next month, and if the latest leaks are accurate, the company isn’t playing it safe. Reports suggest the iQOO 15 Ultra will pack a massive battery and, surprisingly, a physical cooling fan—hardware you typically only see in niche gaming devices.
Keeping things cool
According to schematic leaks from tipster Digital Chat Station, the iQOO 15 Ultra might be trying something different to manage heat. The blueprints show a small active fan, roughly 17mm wide, tucked inside the chassis.
The idea is simple: a fan could actively push hot air out through a vent near the camera bump. If true, this system would work alongside a large vapor chamber to keep the phone from slowing down during long gaming sessions or heavy tasks.
Serious power under the hood
It’s not just about staying cool; it’s about speed. iQOO Product Manager Galant V shared a screenshot of internal tests where the phone supposedly scored over 4.5 million points on AnTuTu. While these are just lab numbers, they hint that the phone’s processor is incredibly fast.
On top of that, battery life could be a major selling point. Leaks point to a massive 7,000mAh battery, which is significantly larger than what we usually get in flagship phones today. To fill that huge tank, the phone is expected to support blazing-fast 200W charging.
Why this matters
Putting a mechanical fan in a mainstream phone is a bold move. Until now, active cooling was mostly left to hardcore gaming phones like the RedMagic. By combining this cooling tech with a huge battery and top-tier memory options (up to 24GB of RAM), iQOO seems to be blurring the line between a normal daily driver and a dedicated gaming machine.
The phone is already up for pre-order in China, with a full launch expected in February. There’s no word yet on when—or if—it will hit global markets.
