iQOO is all set to bring its latest flagship — the iQOO 15 — to India on November 26. The smartphone will ship with Android 16-based OriginOS 6 right out of the box and promises a serious upgrade in long-term software support.

According to fresh reports, the iQOO 15 will get five years of OS updates and seven years of security patches, making it the company’s most future-proof device yet.

Long-Term Software Commitment

A report by Smartprix claims that iQOO’s extended software support policy is driven by strong user feedback and a growing demand for long-lasting devices. The company reportedly wants to match the longevity standards set by other major smartphone brands.

This makes the iQOO 15 the first phone from the brand to debut with OriginOS 6, iQOO’s new custom skin based on Android 16.

For comparison, the previous iQOO 13 launched with FuntouchOS 15 (based on Android 15) and was promised four years of OS upgrades and five years of security patches. Even the iQOO 12, launched earlier this year, received an extension from three to four years of OS updates.

Clearly, iQOO is stepping up its game when it comes to software longevity.

Design, Variants, and Display

The iQOO 15 will be available in two classic finishes — Alpha (black) and Legend (white) — following the design cues of its Chinese counterpart that debuted in October.

On the front, the phone will feature a 2K resolution display with a 144Hz refresh rate, ensuring ultra-smooth visuals and crisp clarity for both gaming and media.

Performance and Hardware

Under the hood, the iQOO 15 packs the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with LPDDR5x Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage for blazing-fast performance.

For gamers, iQOO has added a dedicated Q3 gaming chip to enhance frame rates and reduce latency. To keep things cool during long sessions, the device features an 8,000 sq mm single-layer vapor chamber, one of the largest in its class for thermal management.

The Bigger Picture

With top-tier specs, extended update support, and a focus on gaming performance, the iQOO 15 seems ready to challenge other 2025 flagships like the OnePlus 13 and the Xiaomi 15 Pro.

If iQOO delivers on its software promise, the iQOO 15 could be one of the few Android phones that stay fast, secure, and relevant for half a decade — something every power user will appreciate.
