When a user opts in, Gemini can find details from applications like Gmail, Docs, Drive, Calendar or Photos to give accurate answers. For instance, it can answer “Show me my recent bill” or “What’s the weather like near my hotel next week?” The AI does this by analysing information already stored in the connected apps. This happens whenever the user permits it to do so.
Google has clarified that the feature is fully optional. Users can turn access on or off at any time. They can also review what Gemini can access through clear settings. The system has been designed to ensure privacy and transparency at every step.
