American automobile manufacturer Scout is all set to showcase two of their concept models in the coming month. The brand is backed by German automobile giant, Volkswagen, and plans to revive its parent company the International Harvester. These two concept models are expected to go on sale in the USA in the year 2026.

All We Know About the Scout’s Unveiling Next Month

The brand plans to showcase two vehicles, one of which will be an all-electric drivetrain SUV, which will compete against popular ICE rivals like Land Rover Defender, Jeep Wrangler, Ford Bronco, etc. The other vehicle will be a pickup truck which will lock horns with the Rivian R1T, Ford F-150 Lightning, etc.

The leaked teaser image depicts a boxy design with sharp curves and creases at corners, inspired by International Scout's popular off-roader, the International Harvester Scout II.

The Harvester Scout II was produced and sold during the 1970s. At that time, it directly rivalled the Jeep CJs. The current generation vehicles are built keeping ruggedness in mind which will allow them to gain some popularity in the American automotive market which generally prefers big bulky utility vehicles.

A closer look at the leaked image reveals that the vehicles will feature a vertically mounted headlamp, chunky all-terrain tyres, and big wheel arches indicating that the vehicles will be ready to tackle all sorts of terrains comfortably. The brand might also offer some variants of the cars with road-focused wheels and tyres.

These vehicles will be produced at a new manufacturing facility in South Carolina USA. The brand is sourcing batteries and other electronics for the cars from Magna. The vehicles will also have a brand new platform, developed exclusively for them, they will not use any existing platform of the Volkswagen group.

The brand plans to begin production in 2026. Additionally, it aims to manufacture over 2,00,000 vehicles annually. This is a bold and big commitment by the brand. This shows that Volkswagen is very ambitious about the Scout brand and its products. We will have more information about the vehicles after their global unveiling event on October 24, 2024.
