As per recent reports, the Nissan Ariya E-SUV is expected to debut in the Indian market in the coming months via the CBU route. The Japanese automaker has finally started taking the Indian automobile space more seriously. Following the launch of the X-Trail SUV, Nissan India is believed to launch a few more cars in the coming months.

The Nissan Ariya EV was first showcased as a concept in the year 2019 and then it made its global debut in 2020. The sleek-looking E-SUV was spied testing in the Indian subcontinent a year ago in 2023. This E-SUV takes the likes of the Tesla Model Y and Volkswagen ID.4 overseas.

Nissan Ariya EV: Build, Design and Features

The Nissan Ariya EV is built on Renault-Nissan’s co-developed CMF-EV electric vehicle architecture. The SUV looks uniquely sporty with its coupe design, alongside a blacked-out roof and pillars. It utilizes the brand’s new ‘design’ shield and gets the illuminated Nissan logo in some markets. The SUV runs on either 19 or 20-inch alloy wheels, depending on the variants.

The interior of the electrified Nissan Ariya follows a minimalist design language and boasts twin dashboard-mounted 12.3-inch screens with a small haptic control panel below the AC vents. The top-spec variants of the E-SUV are equipped with a heads-up-display (HUD) and a Bose-sourced surround sound system.

Nissan Ariya EV: Performance

Globally, the Nissan Ariya is offered in two variants - one with a single-motor rear-wheel drive setup and the other with a twin-motor four-wheel drive setup. The vehicle is further divided by battery capacities of 63kWh and 87kWh. The base 63kWh model produces 217hp and 300Nm, and the brand claims, it can give a range of 402km on a single charge.

On the other hand, the 87kWh model churns out 242hp and 300Nm and the range here is bumped up to 529km. The top-of-the-line model also has an 87kWh battery pack but produces an impressive 306hp and 600Nm, while having a claimed range of up to 513km on a single charge.

Nissan Ariya EV: Expected Launch Date

Nissan India is currently focused on the X-Trail launch, which will take place on August 1, 2024. Like the X-Trail, the Japanese automaker will also bring the Ariya E-SUV via the CBU route in the coming months. However, further details of the upcoming electric Nissan car are awaited.
