As we reported earlier, Kia Motors in India is bringing the new Carnival to our shores. The Korean automaker will initially sell the CBU imports of the Carnival, later followed by the CKD units.

In addition, interested customers can book this premium MUV, but only a handful of Kia dealers have started taking unofficial bookings for the upcoming iteration.

Apart from that, there are reports that the new Kia Carnival will make its India debut on October 3, 2024. Additionally, the deliveries are likely to commence in late October.

Details We Have So Far

Currently, the bookings have started at the dealership level and only selected Kia dealers have commenced taking the bookings. It is worth noting that Kia India has not declared the timeline of official bookings.

Most dealerships have set the token amount at Rs 1 lakh, which is fully or 100% refundable.

According to industry reports, the India-bound Kia Carnival is likely to be offered in a single fully loaded variant. Like all other Kia cars, the company’s upcoming MUV boasts an extensive feature list, in terms of comfort, convenience and safety.

This three-row Korean MUV is deemed to be equipped with a heads-up display (HUD), dual 12.3-inch displays (infotainment- and driver displays), front and rear dashcams, ventilated seats, electrically adjustable seats (all rows), digital rearview mirror, and ambient lighting.

Other expected features include a panoramic dual-pane sunroof, connected car technology, leatherette upholstery, Level-2 ADAS, electric parking brake with auto hold, drive modes, disc brakes (all wheels), air purifier, and digital key with fingerprint recognition, among others.

The Level-2 ADAS is likely to include adaptive high beam, autonomous emergency braking, high, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic recognition, and board signs recognition, among others.

On the powertrains front, the Kia Carnival is likely to get a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine, which also powered the previous iteration of the India-bound Kia Carnival. In contrast, the international version also gets a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol with a hybrid setup and a 3.5-litre V6 engine.

Now, as for the pricing, the India-spec Kia Carnival CBU version is expected to touch the Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom) mark. In that price bracket, there is no direct rival. However, the alternatives can include the Toyota Vellfire (Rs 1.22 crore) and the Toyota Innova HyCross (tops the Rs 30 lakh mark). All are ex-showroom figures.
