The latest generation of the Audi Q5 has broken cover globally. This new generation model is based on a brand-new platform called Premium Platform Combustion (PPC). The design of the SUV has also been heavily revamped and the vehicle is loaded with features to the brim.
Exterior and Interior of the Audi Q5
The exterior of the SUV follows the current Audi design language as seen on new-age Audi cars. It gets a redesigned grille along with new sleek Matrix LED headlights. The front bumper of the SUV has also been reprofiled to enhance its sporty appeal.
The side profile remains rather simple without many cuts and creases and gets a sporty set of alloy wheels. The rear of the SUV gets LED taillamps which are connected with the help of an LED strip in between. The rear bumper of the SUV has also been redesigned and receives a dual-tone finish.
The interior of the SUV is loaded with features such as an Audi MMI panoramic display, housing an 11.9-inch driver’s display and a 14.5-inch touchscreen infotainment. The brand also offers a 10.9-inch optional display for the co-passenger. It also gets a new three-spoke Audi steering wheel with a flat top and bottom.
Audi Q5 Performance
The new Audi Q5 is offered in three power configurations.
There is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine, churning out 204hp and 340Nm. This variant can be had either with AWD setup or FWD setup.
Another option is the 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine, which churns out 204hp and 400Nm with the Quattro (AWD) system as standard.
Lastly, the top-of-the-line Audi Q5, namely the SQ5, comes equipped with a 3.0-litre V6 turbo petrol engine, which generates 367hp and 550Nm.
All the abovementioned engine options are mated to a 7-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission and a 48V mild hybrid system, which belts out an additional 24hp and 230Nm.
Audi also promises to bring a plug-in hybrid variant of the SUV later.
