Maruti Suzuki launched the latest 2024 Swift (4th-Gen) in the Indian market in the month of May and the car has been on a successful sales journey in its segment.

Now, there are reports of the brand bringing a CNG version of this new Swift, and it will be really interesting to see how the brand manages to keep the performance of the new three-cylinder 1.2-litre Z-series engine with CNG.

Expected Features and Pricing Details of the Upcoming Swift CNG

The brand new 2024 Swift comes in various variants at different price points to attract a wide range of buyers, the Swift CNG is also expected to come in many variants however, like petrol, it is uncertain if the Swift CNG will be offered in top trim or not.

As for the performance, the car will be equipped with the same 1.2-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, which is codenamed Z12E. This is the same engine which debuted with the Swift earlier this year and will be coupled with CNG for the first time ever. This 1.2-litre petrol engine alone makes 82hp and 112Nm, but the CNG is likely to get a less state of tune.

In terms of comfort and convenience features, we expect the Swift CNG to borrow most offerings from the petrol counterpart. But, we can expect fewer features from the CNG version.

However, the pricing of the CNG-powered variants is expected to go up by Rs 80,000 to Rs 90,000 because of the inclusion of CNG tech.

The 2024 Swift petrol is on sale in India with a starting price of Rs 6.5 lakh, so we can expect the Swift CNG to start somewhere around Rs 7.3 lakh to 7.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
