The Toyota-owned luxury division, Lexus, has reported a 14% domestic sales growth in India. And, Lexus India’s made-in-India ES sedan has played a pivotal role in the sales growth, accounting for 55% of total sales. For those unaware, the Japanese luxury car manufacturer Lexus started executing operations in our country in 2017.

The company made a strong foothold in India, thanks to the growing demand for premium mobility, which consists of reliability and mileage, resulting in a strong market acceptance.

Furthermore, Lexus sedans and their SUVs played a vital role in fuelling the growth. Compared to the first half (H1: January-June) of 2023, the carmaker’s SUVs reported a 60% year-over-year increase, which indicated that the demand for luxury SUVs is rising in India.

Sharing his expressions on this occasion, Tanmay Bhattacharya, Executive Vice President of Lexus India, stated, “The first half of the calendar year 2024 has been pivotal for Lexus India, marked by growth and increasing customer trust in the brand. We are thrilled with the positive response from our guests, which underscores our commitment to excellence. Our customer-centric efforts like the newly introduced NX 350h Overtrail designed to enrich outdoor lifestyle and driving experience, and the recently announced new comprehensive 8 years/160,000 km vehicle warranty have been curated for India as a mark of commitment and respect for customers' confidence in Lexus quality, durability and reliability along with product acceptance has further built on the growth trajectory from last year.”
