Hyundai India has revised the variant list of the Hyundai Venue. The Korean automaker has launched a new variant, equipped with a premium and one of the most in-demand features - the sunroof.

Earlier, the sunroof feature used to start from the SX variant. The new variant is the mid-spec S(O) Plus, which has an ex-showroom price of Rs 10 lakh.

So, let’s dive into the offerings of the newly launched S(O) Plus variant.

Overview

The 2024 Hyundai Venue’s newly added S(O) Plus is the most affordable sunroof-equipped variant. This variant is positioned above the S(O) variant, which carries over the offerings from the former and has new features, plus those two variants have a difference of only Rs 12,000.

Speaking of features, this new variant houses front LED DRLs, LED headlights (with auto-headlights), and connected LED taillights. It runs on steel wheels that are 15 inches, plus it has body-coloured outside rear-view mirrors (ORVMs).

Furthermore, the new iteration incorporates an off-white and black colour scheme, as far as the cabin is concerned. Inside, it has a semi-digital instrument cluster and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless- Android Auto and -Apple CarPlay. It also has a single-pane sunroof, a manual AC, an anti-glare IRVM, electric ORVMs, and a height-adjustable driver seat.

On the safety front, the Venue S(O) Plus variant has a tyre pressure monitor (TPMS), a rear parking camera, a hill-start assist, and six airbags.

As far as the specifications go, this new variant is limited to a Kappa 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine, which is tuned to churn out 82bhp at 6000rpm and 114Nm of peak torque at 4000rpm. Currently, it misses out on an automatic transmission and is exclusive to a five-speed manual transmission.

It is worth noting that the prices of the rest of the variants of the Hyundai Venue remain unchanged, and continue to range from Rs 7.94 lakh to Rs 13.48 lakh. These are ex-showroom figures, as of August 2024.

Since the Hyundai Venue is positioned in the competitive sub-4m segment, this SUV continues to rival the Mahindra XUV3XO, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, and the upcoming Skoda sub-4m SUV.

It also competes with the Maruti Suzuki Fronx and the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor.
