The images of the facelifted BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe (GC) have been circulating on the internet lately, and the model shown emerges as a facelifted model, and that too in a long-wheelbase version. The most notable style update is the BMW 1 Series-like front fascia.

So, allow us to give you all the information we have so far.

Overview

The leaked images of the facelifted 2 Series Gran Coupe depict a completely different avatar of the vehicle. It may not look like an updated version but rather a new generation.

However, the cosmetic tweaks include the 2024 BMW 1 Series-like front fascia, as it has a lowered front with angular cuts, and upward-swept LED headlights, complemented by a wider and redesigned dual kidney grille. The front bumper also houses a broad chine with segregated large air dams into three parts - two placed at extreme ends.

The model shown in the image is an M-Sport version and as you notice, this iteration has M-specific elements, visible on the roof, ORVMs, window frame, grille, front aprons, rear spoiler, rear bumper, alloy wheels and brake callipers.

It is worth noting that the standard versions of the BMW usually have chrome inserts.

Further, the side profile of the vehicle remains the same as the pre-facelift 2 Series (available in India), but the door handles are re-designed to flush-type, plus it has received a new set of alloy wheels.

The rear end, on the other hand, also has a revised M-specific bumper, quad exhaust, vertically mounted reflectors on extreme ends, diffuser, and re-designed tail lights.

These cosmetic changes are done to make this vehicle’s design in line with the new-age BMW cars.

Keeping those aside, the new 2 Series shown in the picture is a long-wheelbase iteration; stretched by 110mm than the regular version. Due to that, the rear door handles are longer and the roof is slightly flatter than the standard wheelbase version.

The LWB version of the 2 Series facelift is exclusive to China, as the China-spec BMW cars, including SUVs, are sold in long-wheelbase versions. But, this time, India is the second country after China to receive the BMW 5 Series LWB (Rs 72.90 lakh, ex-showroom) for the first time.

Yes, that’s right. Only two countries in the world have BMW LWB cars. And, seeing the new trend in India, the facelifted BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe (GC) LWB might also arrive.

There are reports that the new entry-level sedan will enter the production line in November this year, which means it will launch in 2025.

In terms of rivals, the BMW 2 Series LWB sedan goes up against the China-spec Mercedes-AMG A 35 L sedan - the only LWB AMG available across the globe.
