The Japan-based automobile manufacturer Honda recently launched the updated CBR250RR in Malaysia. The updated version underwent mechanical and performance tweaks.
That said, this Japanese sporty two-wheeler has the same engine as before, which has received an increase in power by 1bhp. This 249cc twin-cylinder engine now produces 41bhp at 13000rpm but continues to produce 25Nm of peak torque.
Due to that, the oil ring tension and pistons, valve timing, and lift were all reprofiled. The inlet port diameter was increased from 0.2mm to 21.6mm, allowing additional air and fuel mixture to enter the combustion chamber. Simultaneously, the compression ratio has also increased from 12.1:1 to 12.5:1.
This engine continues to draw power from a six-speed transmission, benefitted from a quick-shifter and a slipper clutch.
2024 Honda CBR250RR: Other Highlights
The updated CBR250RR now stands on a 37mm Showa-sourced upside-down fork (USD) at the front with a travel of 130mm, thereby improving the manoeuvrability. This iteration, however, continues to stand on a five-step preload adjustable mono-shock at the rear.
For safe braking, this 250cc bike is equipped with a single hydraulic disc brake at the front and rear ends, and benefits from a dual-channel ABS.
Further, the Hond CBR runs on 17-inch alloy wheels, having a tyre section of 110mm and 140mm at the front and rear, respectively. Other offerings include a blue backlit LCD instrument cluster, three riding modes (Sport+, Sport, and Comfort), and a ride-by-wire throttle.
The CBR250R is offered in two colour options: Honda Tricolour with gold wheels and Mat Zodiac Blue Metallic with black wheels. But these colour options are offered in Malaysia.
