India’s premium phone market just got a lot more crowded, with the arrival of the OnePlus 15 and the vivo x300. The OnePlus 15 is now available for purchase starting at Rs 77,999. vivo x300 is priced a little lower at Rs 75,999. Basically, OnePlus wants to give you a large screen and a battery that lasts for a long time. Honestly, vivo is working on a camera which makes very clear pictures and a body which fits easily in your pocket.

Screen and Design Differences

  • OnePlus 15 uses a 6.78 inch screen with a 165Hz rate.
  • The vivo x300 screen is smaller at 6.31 inches but very bright.
  • OnePlus weighs 215 grams and feels heavy in the hand.
  • The vivo model is light at 190 grams and easy to carry.

Look, the OnePlus 15 is a big device for people who watch many movies on the go. It feels quite solid. It uses a special frame that feels a bit like stone. The reality is, the vivo x300 is a much better phone for people who like to use their phone with only one hand. The OnePlus display is very smooth for gaming.

The vivo phone is really easy to read when you’re outside, in the bright Indian sun. This is because the vivo phone can get very bright and hits 4500 nits. OnePlus phone is quite heavy and it weighs 215 grams. On the hand the vivo phone is lighter and weighs 190 grams.

Both the vivo and the OnePlus phones have protection ratings. So you do not have to worry if you drop your vivo or OnePlus phone in water they will be safe.

Hardware and Camera

  • OnePlus runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip.
  • The vivo x300 uses the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor.
  • You get a 200 megapixel main camera on the vivo x300.
  • OnePlus has a 50 megapixel system with a 3.5x optical zoom.

The chips are fast. The OnePlus chip runs at 4.6 GHz which helps it handle very heavy tasks without any slow down. Honestly, the 200 megapixel camera on the vivo is a big deal for people who love photography. It uses special Zeiss lenses to stop light from reflecting in your pictures.

It takes photos with so much detail that you can crop them many times. OnePlus also takes good photos but it works better for zooming into objects from far away. You can get either 12GB or 16GB of RAM on these phones. These phones use Android 16 software, which’s the latest version of Android.

The battery is huge. OnePlus 15 carries a 7300 mAh battery which is almost like having a small power bank inside your phone. It charges to full in about 40 minutes with the 120W charger in the box. Actually, the vivo x300 also charges fast with its 90W system. Look, you save money if you pick the vivo 256GB model. Honestly, the OnePlus price is fair because that huge battery will last you for two full days. OnePlus also lets you charge at 50W without any wires.

My Verdict

Check your budget first. If you want a battery that never dies and a big screen for games, buy the OnePlus 15. However, if you want a small phone with a professional camera, the vivo x300 is better for you. Both are good phones. Actually, I prefer the OnePlus battery because I hate carrying a charger to work every single day. The vivo is great if you take many photos of your family and friends. Pick the one that feels right in your hand.
