Apple is moving dates. The company now targets a late 2027 release for the glasses while moving the cheaper headset, the Vision Air, to 2029. These details come from Mark Gurman who works as a journalist at Bloomberg. Apple is the firm that makes the iPhone and they are working on these products to grow their presence in the market. Honestly, I think the wait will be quite long for most of us here in India who wanted a cheap device.

Basically, Apple wants to sell these to everyone. They want to repeat the success they had with the Apple Watch. You might remember how that watch became a big hit after some time. Apple sees the eyewear market as a 200 billion dollar chance for the whole world. The price will be between 200 and 500 dollars. In our currency, that is about 17,000 to 42,000 rupees. This price makes the device a competitor for brands like Ray-Ban.

These glasses will not actually have a screen. They are very light. Actually, the goal for these glasses is to provide a home for Apple Intelligence which is the new system for AI. Apple wants to make sure that the software and hardware are ready for users.

Apple Builds Glasses for Daily Use

  • The glasses look like normal frames.
  • They have built in cameras for photos.
  • You can listen to music with them.
  • The price starts around seventeen thousand rupees.

Look, Apple is not alone in this race. Meta is already selling their glasses and people like the simple design. Samsung also showed off its new glasses earlier this year at the big Google event. They are working with Warby Parker to make glasses that work with Galaxy phones. Apple thinks their advantage is the two billion people already using their devices. They want the glasses to work easily with your iPhone. The company is testing many styles to make sure you like how they look on your face.

Meta and Samsung Have a Lead Now

  • Meta already sells the Ray-Ban glasses.
  • Samsung has a new Android XR device.
  • Google Gemini AI helps users identify objects.

This change in hardware happens while the company gets a new leader. John Ternus will become the CEO on the first of September. He takes over from Tim Cook who led the firm for a long time. Ternus has worked on the Mac and the iPad before. Reports say he thinks the glasses are a top goal for the future. He has been at the company for over twenty years and knows how to build hardware. Under his lead, the company will focus more on AI that keeps your data safe.

John Ternus Becomes the New Boss

  • He starts as CEO this September.
  • Tim Cook is leaving the top job.
  • Ternus has worked there for twenty years.

The Vision Air is coming even later than we thought. Apple is still working on a follow up for the Vision Pro. That first headset was very heavy and cost a lot of money. To fix this, they are making a lighter version. But this product is also facing many delays. It will not arrive until 2029 because the company needs to lower the cost of the screens. Until then, you will not see any big new headsets from the company for a few years.
