Yamaha has finally launched the much-awaited 2025 update of its popular streetfighter — the MT-15 Version 2.0 — in India. The base variant still carries the same price tag of Rs 1,69,550, but the top-end DLX variant now costs Rs 1,80,500 (both ex-showroom, Delhi), which is Rs 6,250 more than before. But the hike comes with some solid tech and cosmetic upgrades that aim to impress young and style-conscious riders.
Smarter Tech: TFT Console and Bluetooth Are Finally Here
The biggest change in the 2025 Yamaha MT-15 V2 is the all-new TFT console, which comes with the DLX variant. This is a major leap over the older LCD unit. Not only does it look sharper and more modern, but it also adds some handy features like Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation — something that was long overdue on this bike.
Bold New Colours That Pop
When it comes to style, Yamaha didn’t hold back. There are three all-new paint options this year. The Standard variant gets a fresh Metallic Silver Cyan finish, while the DLX variant comes in eye-catching Vivid Violet Metallic and Ice Storm shades. These bold colours definitely give the MT-15 a more premium and youthful vibe, helping it stand out in the crowded 150–160cc segment.
Same Engine, Still a Beast
If you’re wondering about performance — nothing’s changed, and that’s actually a good thing. Yamaha has stuck to the winning formula. The engine is the same one found in the R15, known for its high-revving nature and smooth performance, especially in city rides. The suspension, brakes, and wheels have also been carried over from the previous version, so you get the same reliable ride quality.
Competition Is Catching Up — But MT-15 Is Ready
Right now, the Yamaha MT-15 Version 2.0 is the only liquid-cooled streetfighter in its class. But that edge might not last for long. KTM is reportedly working on the KTM 160 Duke and the RC160, which could shake things up soon. Still, with the 2025 updates, the MT-15 V2 feels ready to take on new challengers while keeping its fanbase happy.
