Xiaomi has officially launched its latest compact tablet, the Xiaomi Pad Mini, during its September 2025 product event. Unveiled alongside other devices, the new tablet features an 8.8-inch high-resolution display, is powered by a new MediaTek chipset, and includes a large battery with fast charging capabilities. The device will be available in two storage configurations and two colour options.
Display and Audio Features
The Xiaomi Pad Mini is built around an 8.8-inch 3K display with a resolution of 3,008×1,880 pixels, a 16:10 aspect ratio, and a pixel density of 403ppi. The screen supports a refresh rate of up to 165Hz, has a typical peak brightness of 600 nits, and is compatible with Dolby Vision. For eye comfort, the display has received Low Blue Light, Flicker Free, and Circadian Friendly certifications from TÜV Rheinland. For audio, the tablet is equipped with a dual-stereo speaker setup that supports Hi-Res Audio and Dolby Atmos.
Performance, Software, and AI Integration
At its core, the tablet is powered by the 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset, which is paired with an Immortalis-G925 MC12 GPU. The device will be offered with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 internal storage. The tablet runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS interface and comes integrated with the company’s suite of artificial intelligence tools, branded as HyperAI. This software package includes features such as AI Writing, AI Speech Recognition, AI Art, and support for Google Gemini and Circle to Search.
Camera, Battery, and Connectivity
For photography, the Xiaomi Pad Mini features a single 13-megapixel rear camera sensor capable of recording 4K video at 30fps. For selfies and video calls, there is an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The device is powered by a 7,500mAh battery that supports 67W wired fast charging and 18W wired reverse charging. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. The tablet measures 6.46mm in thickness and weighs approximately 326g.
Pricing and Availability
The Xiaomi Pad Mini will have a starting price of $429 (approximately Rs. 37,000) for the base model, which includes 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. A higher-tier variant with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage will also be available, though its price has not yet been announced. The tablet will be sold in Purple and Gray colourways, with optional accessories like the Xiaomi Focus Pen and a protective cover available for separate purchase.
