Xiaomi HyperOS 3 is officially on the way. The Chinese tech giant has confirmed its launch, and a senior company executive has also shared the first list of Xiaomi smartphones and tablets that will get the update. Along with this, the company has started enrollment for beta testers, with the first beta version expected to roll out very soon. Built on Android 16, the new interface is said to bring smoother performance and a refreshed design.
Launch Date and Tagline
The company has revealed that Xiaomi HyperOS 3 will be unveiled on August 28 at a special launch event. Xiaomi is using the tagline “Everything Goes Smoothly”, which clearly suggests that the new Android 16-based OS will offer more seamless app switching and fluid navigation. While Xiaomi hasn’t shared the full list of new features yet, users can expect several redesigned elements and performance improvements.
Beta Testing Now Open
Lu Weibing, Xiaomi’s Partner and President, and President of the Smartphone Department, confirmed on social media that the HyperOS 3 beta programme has already gone live. Interested users can sign up through the Xiaomi Community’s Internal Testing Centre to receive beta updates on eligible devices.

Earlier Than Expected
Interestingly, many expected Xiaomi HyperOS 3 to debut alongside the Xiaomi 16 series smartphones, which are also rumored to run on the Android 16-based interface right out of the box. Instead, Xiaomi has decided to push the OS update ahead of schedule. For context, HyperOS 2 was launched in October 2024 with the Xiaomi 15 series.
