Xiaomi has confirmed that December 25 will be a big day for the brand in China. The launch event will begin at 7 pm local time and will be led by the unveiling of the new Xiaomi 17 Ultra. Along with the phone, Xiaomi is also set to refresh its ecosystem with two new products: the Xiaomi Watch 5 and the Xiaomi Buds 6.
Xiaomi Watch 5 Brings Smarter Hardware
The Xiaomi Watch 5 is being positioned as a full-fledged flagship smartwatch rather than a basic fitness tracker. At its core is the Snapdragon W5 platform, built on a power-efficient 4nm process and designed to handle advanced smartwatch tasks smoothly.
In terms of build quality, Xiaomi has focused heavily on durability and premium materials. The watch features a round dial covered with sapphire glass, known for its strong scratch resistance, and a single-piece stainless steel body. One of the standout additions this year is an EMG sensor, which works alongside ECG support. While Xiaomi has not explained all its use cases yet, EMG sensors usually read muscle movement from the wrist, opening the door to more advanced gesture controls and health tracking features.
Xiaomi Buds 6 Focus on Audio and Productivity
Xiaomi will also introduce the Xiaomi Buds 6, its latest semi in-ear wireless earbuds. They will be available in three colors: Pink, White, and Black, with a design shaped for a more comfortable and secure fit.
Audio quality is a key highlight here, with Xiaomi promising CD-level lossless sound. Beyond music, the Buds 6 are designed to be more than just earbuds. They will support features like smart voice recording, real-time translation, and AI-generated summaries, clearly targeting users who want productivity tools built directly into their audio accessories.
Xiaomi 17 Ultra Gets a Slimmer and Fresher Look
The main attraction of the event, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, has already been teased with noticeable design upgrades. Xiaomi has revealed a new Starry Sky Green color, created using ore particles that give the back panel a subtle shimmering effect under light.
The company is also emphasizing how much slimmer this Ultra model is compared to previous generations. At just 8.29mm thick, Xiaomi claims this is the thinnest Ultra smartphone it has ever made, showing a clear focus on refined design without dropping the premium feel.
Overall, Xiaomi’s December 25 launch looks set to showcase not just a new flagship phone, but a more polished and tightly connected product ecosystem across smartphones, wearables, and audio devices.
