New leaks from China suggest that Xiaomi is getting ready to launch the Xiaomi 17 Ultra very soon. The phone is expected to be the top model in the Xiaomi 17 series, and early details point towards a big upgrade in battery life, faster charging, and a slimmer design. As the launch gets closer, more information about the phone’s battery, design, and camera setup has surfaced online.
Bigger battery and faster charging
According to popular tipster Bald Panda on Weibo, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will come with a large 6,800mAh battery. It is also expected to support 100W fast wired charging, along with wireless charging support. This should help users get a full day of heavy usage without worrying too much about battery life.
For comparison, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra had a 6,000mAh battery with 90W wired and 80W wireless charging. While the new Ultra model gets a noticeable battery boost, it may still fall slightly behind the Xiaomi 17 Pro, which is rumored to pack an even bigger 7,500mAh battery.
Slimmer design and new colour options
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is expected to launch in four colour options: black, white, green, and purple. These new shades replace some of the older colour choices seen on previous Ultra models, giving the phone a fresher look.
In terms of size, the phone is said to be around 77.6mm wide and just 8mm thick, with a weight of about 227g. This makes it slimmer than the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, which was thicker at 9.4mm and slightly heavier. Despite the large battery, Xiaomi seems to be focusing on a more refined and sleek design.
Powerful hardware and launch timeline
Leaks suggest that Xiaomi could launch the Xiaomi 17 Ultra in China between December 22 and December 27. This phone will also be special because it will be the first device developed under Xiaomi’s new co creation partnership with Leica.
On the inside, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is expected to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. For cameras, the phone is rumored to feature a powerful setup with a 50MP main camera, a massive 200MP telephoto lens, and a 50MP ultra wide camera, making it a strong option for photography enthusiasts.
If these leaks turn out to be accurate, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra could be one of the most powerful and camera focused flagship phones Xiaomi has launched so far.
