WhatsApp has been busy upgrading its platform with new features to make messaging smarter and safer. After introducing scheduled calls and anti-scam security updates earlier this month, the Meta-owned app has now launched Writing Help, an AI-based tool that helps users write better messages.

Writing Help with Meta AI

The new Writing Help tool uses Meta AI and generative Artificial Intelligence (gen AI) to suggest clear, well-phrased messages. Whether you want your text to sound professional, funny, or supportive, the tool offers multiple styles to choose from.

To use it, simply open WhatsApp, start typing a message, and tap the pencil icon. You’ll see suggestions that can be picked and sent instantly, saving time and effort while making your messages look polished.

Privacy First

WhatsApp has assured users that Private Processing technology keeps everything safe. All AI suggestions are generated on the device itself, which means neither Meta nor any third party can read your chats or AI-assisted drafts.

Optional But Handy

Like the app’s message summaries feature, Writing Help is optional. Users need to enable it manually, so you’re in control of whether you want to use AI assistance or not.

WhatsApp Testing Voicemail Feature

Alongside this, WhatsApp is also testing a voicemail feature. If someone misses your call, you’ll be able to leave a recorded voice message. The receiver can then decide whether to return the call immediately or later — a feature that adds flexibility and convenience.
