WhatsApp is planning to introduce a new feature, which will make managing space on the app a lot easier. The messaging platform is testing a per-chat storage management system, which will allow you to free up space on a granular level.

WhatsApp Will Make Storage Management Convenient and Better

WABetaInfo has revealed that WhatsApp will introduce the “Manage Storage” option under each chat’s Info section. The section will hold the shared media in a grid format, sorted by file size. There will be an option to organise the media using filters like “Newest,” “Oldest,” and “Largest.”

Currently, WhatsApp allows you to sort all media via the “Manage Storage” option under Settings, and if you need to do this for a particular chat, you will have to delete the photos, videos, files, and documents shared manually. With this, you can sort and delete all the media and delete with even more convenience, if needed.

This feature is available to some beta testers on iOS devices; however, there’s no word on when it will be available to a wider audience, including those using Android phones.

In addition to this, WhatsApp is testing the ability to create and save a sticker in real time, making it easier to reuse the same conveniently. This is being tested for both Android and iOS users and should be available to general users soon.
