Vivo looks set to shake up its V-series lineup next month. After weeks of speculation, fresh reports suggest the company will skip the usual “Pro” branding in favor of a new “Vivo V70 Elite” model, with the launch tipped for mid-February in India.
A New Power Strategy
The biggest news here isn’t just the name change—it is the silicon. Leaks indicate Vivo is pivoting to an all-Qualcomm lineup for this generation. The standard V70 is expected to run on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, a solid mid-range chip that recently posted respectable scores on Geekbench.
But the V70 Elite is where things get interesting. Reports claim this handset will carry the most powerful Qualcomm processor ever put into a V-series phone. If true, this marks a major shift for a product line that has historically prioritized slim designs and selfie cameras over raw horsepower.
Cameras and Software
You can’t talk about a Vivo launch without mentioning cameras. Both the V70 and the new Elite model are expected to feature Zeiss-branded optics paired with Sony sensors. This suggests the brand is doubling down on its reputation for portrait photography.
On the software side, buyers should see Android 16 right out of the box, running under Vivo’s OriginOS 6 skin. We also expect plenty of memory, with the base model likely starting at 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The Bottom Line
Launching in mid-February gives Vivo some breathing room after the busy January release window. By upgrading the processor power and introducing an “Elite” tier, the company seems ready to answer critics who felt previous V-series phones were all style and no substance. This time, it looks like they are aiming for both.
