After launching its 400cc modern classic range earlier this year, Triumph seems to be gearing up for its next big move—a new Bonneville-branded motorcycle built right here in India. This upcoming bike is rumored to run on a fresh 350cc engine, putting it head-to-head with the ever-popular Royal Enfield Classic 350.
Why a 350cc Engine?
The choice of displacement isn’t random. Reports suggest Triumph is opting for 350cc to take advantage of India’s GST structure, which could help keep prices competitive. The engine itself is expected to be a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor—likely using a smaller bore but the same stroke as Triumph’s existing 398cc unit.
That setup should deliver a torque-heavy performance with plenty of pull in the low and mid-range—exactly the kind of character riders love in the Classic 350, and now Triumph seems ready to challenge it on its own turf.
Bigger, Bolder Design
One area Triumph is looking to improve on is size. Riders of the 400cc range felt the bikes looked a bit compact, so the Bonneville 350 is tipped to come with a larger fuel tank, chunkier fenders, and bigger side panels for a more substantial road presence.
To support this, the bike may get a redesigned sub-frame and longer swingarm. Expect wire-spoke wheels—possibly tubeless cross-spokes—along with chrome touches and traditional paint schemes to complete that classic Bonneville look.
Positioning and Launch Timeline
The Bonneville 350 could be Triumph’s strongest play yet in India’s mid-capacity classic segment. With its iconic branding and premium feel, it has the potential to carve into the market space that Royal Enfield has dominated for years.
While nothing is official yet, industry buzz suggests the bike could hit Indian roads around June 2026.
