Toyota has rolled out an important update for its MPV, the Rumion, making it safer across the board. From now on, all variants of the Rumion will come with enhanced safety equipment as standard, while the top-end trim also gets an extra layer of tech.

Safety First: Six Airbags Standard

The biggest change is that every Rumion—no matter which variant you pick—will now come with six airbags as standard. That includes dual front, side, and curtain airbags, offering more complete protection for passengers.

On top of that, the fully loaded V variant has been upgraded with a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), which keeps an eye on your tyres and alerts you if the pressure drops.

Engine and Efficiency Options

Under the hood, the Rumion sticks with the reliable 1.5-litre K-Series petrol engine, available in both petrol and CNG versions. The petrol models deliver up to 20.51 kmpl, while the CNG variant pushes mileage further to 26.11 km/kg.

Buyers can choose between a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic with paddle shifters, depending on whether they prefer hands-on driving or effortless convenience.

Interiors Made for Families

Inside, the Rumion continues to prioritize practicality with its seven-seat layout in a dual-tone cabin. The third row reclines, and both the second and third rows have their own AC vents for better comfort.

Tech-wise, the MPV is equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, paired with an Arkamys-tuned sound system. There’s also a built-in voice assistant and remote vehicle controls for added ease.
