In a move to make data sharing easy between Android and Apple devices,  Qualcomm is gearing up to roll out the Quick Share feature. The feature works without the internet, but Android devices still use the built-in Quick Share system to enable the data transfer.

Quick Share Feature  Eligible Devices

The company has not revealed the exact rollout date as of now. However, it has confirmed the news across official social media handles. The feature will work as Apple’s AirDrop, and will be supported by Snapdragon-powered smartphones and tablets, marking a major shift in how Android and Apple devices share files.

Qualcomm has not shared the full list of devices that will support the feature. However, it will be compatible with newer high-end Snapdragon phones initially. The other older devices using Snapdragon chips might get the update later.

Quick Share Compatibility With Airdrop

According to the official details, Quick Share and AirDrop are now interoperable, allowing Apple and Android devices to detect each other and share files. It works both ways, allowing Android and Apple users to share data effortlessly. While transferring the file from an iPhone or Mac to a Pixel 10 device, a notification shows up in the Airdrop panel. When doing the same thing with Android to Apple devices, a Quick Share menu opens up.

Meanwhile, until now, Android-to-Apple sharing required third-party apps. The Pixel 10 devices now support it natively, and Snapdragon devices will soon follow.
