Samsung has been teasing its first-ever tri-fold smartphone for months, and now it looks like the wait may finally be over. According to a new report from The Korea Herald, the device is expected to make its debut at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 2025 summit, scheduled for October 31 to November 1 in Gyeongju, South Korea.
What Will It Be Called?
Samsung hasn’t officially revealed the name of its new foldable yet. Rumors suggest it could be marketed as either the Galaxy G Fold or the Galaxy Z TriFold. Whatever it’s called, the device is set to be one of Samsung’s most ambitious and experimental smartphones to date.
Limited Production, Limited Markets
Unlike Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip models, the tri-fold won’t be widely available at launch. Reports indicate Samsung plans to produce only 50,000 to 200,000 units initially. Availability will also be restricted to select markets, likely including China, South Korea, the US, and the UAE.
A New Ultra-Premium Price
Cutting-edge tech comes at a price — and in this case, it’s steep. The tri-fold is rumored to launch at around $2,800, making it roughly $1,000 more expensive than the Galaxy Z Fold7. If accurate, that would place it firmly in the ultra-premium smartphone category.
