After years of whispers and patent filings, it looks like Samsung is finally ready to show off its most ambitious foldable phone ever. The new device is reportedly called the Galaxy Z TriFold, and it could make its official debut as soon as December 5th.

So, what makes it so special? This phone doesn’t just fold once—it folds in two places. When it’s closed, it’s a phone. When it’s fully open, it becomes a massive 10-inch tablet.

This kind of crazy new tech doesn’t come cheap. The rumored price is sitting around $3,000 (roughly Rs. 2,66,000), which shows just how complex this design is. Things seem to be moving fast, as reports claim that US firmware testing for the new device has already begun.

A Phone That Becomes a Tablet

The whole idea of the Galaxy Z TriFold is to have a device that truly changes its shape. When it’s all folded up, you’ll reportedly use a normal-looking 6.5-inch screen on the outside, just like a regular smartphone.

But when you unfold its two special hinges, it opens up into that giant 10-inch display. Samsung is said to be aiming for a “portable PC” kind of experience. To pull that off, it will almost certainly need a top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon processor to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Rumored to Pack a Huge Camera and Battery

A device this big needs a serious battery. Leaks suggest the Galaxy Z TriFold will come with a large 5,437mAh-rated battery. The screens are also tipped to be incredibly bright (up to 2,600 nits), and the whole thing might even be slimmer than the current Galaxy Z Fold 7.

The camera could be getting a massive upgrade, too. Rumors are pointing to a 200-megapixel primary camera, which would be a huge leap for Samsung’s foldable line.

It’s Coming Soon, But It’ll Be Hard to Find

We have strong signs that the launch is close. Firmware testing for the unlocked US model (SM-F968U1) has reportedly started. This is a crucial step before a phone can be sold, and it confirms a US release is in the works.

That said, don’t expect to see this phone everywhere. The initial launch is expected to be very limited. Besides its home country of South Korea, the Galaxy Z TriFold is only expected to launch in the US and a few other select markets in Asia and the Middle East.
