The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra has sparked plenty of debate, especially around one key question: will Samsung finally upgrade the battery capacity? After several years of sticking with the same numbers, the rumor mill is now split. Some sources claim Samsung will continue with the familiar setup from the Galaxy S25 Ultra, while others believe a small boost is on the way. A new leak from China is now adding fuel to the second theory.

Mixed Signals About Battery Capacity

According to this latest report, the Galaxy S26 Ultra could pack a 5,200 mAh battery. It’s not a dramatic jump, but it would still be a meaningful upgrade from the 5,000 mAh batteries Samsung has used in its recent Ultra models.

However, this clashes with an earlier certification spotted back in August. That listing mentioned a rated capacity of 4,855 mAh, which usually translates to a marketed capacity of 5,000 mAh. With conflicting details coming from different sources, it’s still uncertain whether Samsung is sticking with the same capacity or planning a slight increase this time.

Charging Speeds Could Get a Boost Too

Battery size isn’t the only area where Samsung may be making improvements. Rumors also suggest the Galaxy S26 Ultra will support faster charging — up to 60W wired and 25W wireless.

If these numbers hold true, it would mark a solid upgrade over the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s 45W wired and 15W wireless charging speeds.

For now, nothing is confirmed, but the leaks are hinting that Samsung may finally be ready to push battery performance forward on its next Ultra flagship.
